While these two point guards look like excellent upgrades on paper, it seems to take lead guards a while to figure out the offense we run. I expect both will struggle sometimes early on. But great to have both, they can be used more situationally at first. And I love that we have other experienced guards who can bring the ball up in half court and know the offense.

If Dan chooses to run a more defense to offense scheme like last year (when we had enough healthy guys) I think that would be smart to mask the learning curve somewhat on the set offense. And we have the depth. Stroud was vitally important in that scheme, Jones too, and Aboubacar.

What I like about both guards is they are dribble drive dominant. Messiah seems to know how to get into seams and he has to with his short stature, to be able to see where his offensive threats are rolling to best. And Silva seems to like to drive into the lane but these are only highlight reels so who knows. Good they can both shoot the 3 with some efficiency.
