Your fearless leader Jane Conoley said it saved money. https://daily49er.com/news/2023/05/04/a-tale-of-2-commencements/
“By doing it at Angel Stadium, we can have, you know, 2,500 people come in at once, that reduces the number of ceremonies,” CSULB President Jane Close Conoley said. “But by doing that, of course, we make other parts of the ceremony impossible.”
Having a ceremony with as many students as possible does allow CSULB to have fewer ceremonies, and Conoley cites that it reduces the costs from the 2019 $1.01 million ceremony.
How about this

Glickman said his family flew down from San Francisco for what they didn’t realize would be the “lamest graduation ever.”
How about this quote from a LBPT article https://www.presstelegram.com/2023/03/14/csulb-graduates-wont-walk-the-stage-at-commencement-for-the-3rd-year-in-a-row/
“It kind of feels like a joke that we’re paying all this money and yet we’re getting this kind of like, slapdash graduation where they kind of just rush us through the inside and then they just send us outside and we scan a QR code and we just kind of walk across a makeshift stage,” Boyle said. “It kind of reminds me of a preschool graduation almost, like what I did when I was a kid.”
BigFire you are simply a staff lackey for a university president who is in over her head and the longer she stays the more errors she makes. Your are on an island all alone on this one. Find some news stories about how much the graduating class loved and enjoyed not having their name called and not being on campus. You will find little or nothing.

Are you aware that you get photos of crossing the stage by a professional. You guys have a large lack of understanding. Who said it was to save money. It is an awesome experience. I see you all want to live in the 20th century. This is the 21st century. Previous Message
when my son graduated from lbst we watched him and his friends cross the stage on campus -- took a lot of pics with him and his friends -- had a great time on campus -- and you can only boooooo at those who oppose the hill and and her posse ------ Previous Message
My son graduates LBSU next year. I am invested in this. I want to celebrate my son's graduation on campus and I'll let my opinion known to Jane early in Fall 2023. Everyone I talk to thinks a CSULB graduation at Anaheim stadium to save a few bucks is stupid. Keep up the rah rah for Jane she apparently needs some cheering up lately. Destroying traditions one by one. Worse university president ever, BY FAR! Previous Message
You don't have anything to do with a graduation, you are not a student, staff, or faculty. By being rude, it shows your negativity and anger which is not needed by any sane human. This was my graduation, I and 1000's of others were very supportive of this unique program and process. Dr. Conely is fully supportive of our institution. Your opinion is noted. Previous Message
Attending a CSULB graduation in Anaheim is patently stupid, you are such an apologist for Conoley Previous Message
I went to the ceremonies, and they were actually very nice. Afterwards, the student can meeting with their families at one of the many stages and use their code to here their name with their family around them and take as many photos, both professionally and family close up and make the pictures and experience the best. Walking on the field gave a new and unique perspective. Coming in the stadium with your college and friends was awesome and being on camera was nice too. I recommend to be professional in these very important moments, and booing is not appropriate and very childish. Previous Message
She deserves the boos. Previous Message
I can't believe they are actually keeping the 3 day Commencement format. What was the point of moving it off-campus? Sheer stupidity. Previous Message
Fullerton will have conventional graduation ceremonies on campus next week. Just like last year. Previous Message

From OC Register.
"Conoley was loudly booed by students and their family members at both (graduations). Onlookers even blew airhorns during Conoley’s speech — with at least one person seen being removed from the afternoon ceremony by event security."
