I believe Monson still gets some portion of away games up to a point, but not as open ended as he was before.

just a few years ago everyone was crying about what a tuff schedule we were playing year in and year out -- now we play teams that should never hit a d-1 basketball court -- if the school does not care about bring in teams that are competitive so our boasters and season ticket fans can enjoy a great game wither we win or loose ----------- Previous Message
All schools schedule these type of games. Life Pacific plays at Fullerton and then goes to BYU. We will have a great year and even if you guys don't like it. Dan Monson might just get an extension. Previous Message
99% head coach. I recall Seth and Dave O'Brien having some huge fights over W's vs ticket sales stories.
Monson 'no longer' gets away body bag money per public contract. Believe under Vic he was making extra $100k per year.
But I have to wonder if someone in athletics under Ted calculated out ticket sales so poor that it actually costs the dept less to play on the road where hosts pay a fee to get you to travel there. Has his 15+ years done THAT MUCH damage?
The Saturday lame 4pm starts (eliminating virtually anyone with outside activities) are 100% the coach looking to be home or out for dinner by 8pm post media. With exception of Davis or Hawaii (who couldn't get out going west at night anyway), we're a bus league so no way it's about getting teams home.

Props to the volleyball coaches.. they actually want fans to attend thus night starts. Hopefully our new baseball coach does too.

WHY, why did CDM do this and why did they Administration allow it? Why? All they had to do was schedule one other D1 home game and they would not of gotten all of this outrage. All though 2 more home D1 games would have been better. This is like the Athletic department is shooting themselves in the foot. This makes no sense at all.
In past years Monson was scheduling LMU, Pepperdine, USD, even USC, Arizona State, SDSU, and others. Why the change? Previous Message

Next year, all NAIA teams non conference at home. Why not, if your gonna go garbage, go all the way!
Pitiful. I hope Smitheran uses this as one more clear reason to NOT renew Monson. Or did Monson have an intern make this schedule?
How hard is it to schedule a home and away deal with LMU or Pepperdine? Or USD? Is it that challenging?
Someone with time, please report all So Cal schools in Div I besides the big boys, and who they have at home non conference. Would be good to see a comparison. Previous Message
Man I am going out today and get my season seats for this years MBB. I didn't realize we are playing 3 juggernauts in Cal Luthern, Cal State Dominguez Hills and Life Pacific. Everyone had better get there at least an hour early as the parking for these 3 games will be brutal. On a serious note what a huge FU to all the fans, students and alums that we continue to schedule such crap and they expect people to get fired up over this home schedule. I guess CDM has to pad his winning record somehow. Complete embarrassment.
