We have historic Vets Stadium. Previous Message
All have adequate football stadiums for one thing.
Not much nearby competition for attendance for another.

Good question. How can San Jose State, Cal Poly, and Sacramento State have football? Previous Message
Didn't know sac state had a football program. Even they have figured out how to have a football program. Previous Message
Agree, can't expect the league to pay you to leave. Previous Message
Key issue is the lawsuit filled by OSU and WSU over who controls the PAC 12 funding. If the exiting 10 schools lose the lawsuit, the remaining 2 have a financial base from which to continue as PAC 12 and bring in additional schools. My personal hope is that the 10 leaving schools lose and OSU and WSU gets the money. The other 10 left for $$$ and shouldn't rob the PAC 12. The lawsuit is about PAC 12 Bylaws and giving notice. The two remaining PAC 12 schools will eventually end up in the Mountain West. Either the best MW schools join the new PAC 12 or the two schools join the MW. It depends upon how the revenue from the old Pac12 is divided up.

Best fit for them in the west is the MWC.

Big West only adds DII schools looking to move into DI. CSU San Berdoooooo!!! Previous Message
Because of football (or the lack of it) I doubt that the BIG WEST is the best option for the remaining couple of teams. But you never know!!! Previous Message
Has the Pac 12 done anything? Or are they just folding? They could always merge with the Big West. Previous Message
With 10 teams leaving the PAC 12 something has to happen for the western schools. It should get interesting as to what the WCC and WAC will do. Previous Message
Extra Points publisher Matt Brown reports the “rapid deterioration of the Pac-12, along with the challenges in scheduling (particularly for Olympic sports), have led some campus-based leaders [in the West Coast Conference] to push for the league to be a bit more aggressive” with expansion.” Brown adds there has been mutual interest between the WCC and Grand Canyon but so far the Lopes don’t have the seven votes necessary to secure an invite. “For what it’s worth, virtually every single person I’ve talked to has identified [San Francisco] as the swing vote.” However, Brown believes it’s not a given that GCU would accept an invite because “there is a possibility that whatever configuration the Mountain West + Oregon State + [Washington State] takes…there’s a chance that league could also seek to add non-football members, such as Grand Canyon, Gonzaga, or other members of the WCC or WAC.”
