Interesting that the story mentions the success at Gonzaga, the failure at Minnesota and the "ups and downs" at Long Beach. Monson himself mentions that he could not have brought Gonzaga to the success it has achieved. Obviously, Mark Few was the architect of that success! Most people have discussed on this board that without Few Gonzaga would not be relevent in 1999 or any other time. At Minnesota he was fired after 10 mostly bad years. The story mentions how successful he was in raising the academic level at Minnesota, which we all agree he is very good at, even here at Long Beach State. Again, I mention at Long Beach he has had one very good year, where the fab five basically coached themselves. The story mentions what everybody knows - he is nice guy, an average coach with a penchant for achieving academic success at the programs he leads.
