Was there an ice cream social this year? I enjoyed those.
BAF has been providing less and less over the years. I laugh everytime they mail out the chart for what you get when you donate as nothing more than an email telling us when games are for the week. No more clothing, events etc as once they said they were going to publish a monthly magazine. Nothing was done and still not for this season.
I think some people just donate to the BAF general fund and others direct their donations to the teams they follow.
I've done the latter. Over different periods of time I've donated to Tennis, Track, and Water Polo. Last few years I've only donated to Soccer.
why not go back to the way it was -- we donate to the team or teams that we want to support --we used to support teams not just one team ---
Oh, and I'll bang my drum on something else until I'm blue in the face. There should be a booth to sign people up for BAF at every single home sporting event. They should announce how cheap it is to join and what a difference it makes for the sports programs. They should do that 4-5 times at every event. People should be sick of hearing it.
Job #1 should be to broaden the base of donors. Drastically. Some of the $49 donors will turn into bigger donors.
Since we're excited about changes and improvements, the BAF could do a better job of executing. It's an opportunity. A "benefits" chart is published. I just took the opportunity to look at the benefits promised to people at different giving levels.
I definitely didn't receive a member gift. I was not invited to any kind of "BAF Member Day". I don't recall being invited to any BAF Events. I don't recall ever being invited to any "Select Team Practices".
I don't know if the department responsible has been gutted over the years. I'm not upset myself about not getting these promised benefits, but it's a huge missed opportunity to connect with donors. It's also probably bad form to publish benefits that people don't actually get.
Hopefully this is an area that can be improved and that should help engagement with donors/community a lot.
