Gotta love coach ack's swagger and fiery spirit haha! Most hated in the Big West means a menace, and I'm here for it!!!
GO BEACH
Coach Ack made a comment at the dinner I was at on Monday night that he has identified all of his assistant coaches, and that their contracts are being worked out. He said that his staff "Will be the most hated in the Big West!!!???". We shall see what that means in a week or two.
Glad to see LA get a year in Div I under his belt, team went to the NCAA tourney so that will help his resume. Hope he finds a good landing spot.
No surprise we will see a whole new staff, Acker wants a certain system and best to get assistants who can take the ball and run that direction.
I want wins. It was neat to see Larry Anderson come back, but it didn’t seem to cause a major change to our team either. Wish him the best finding a new gig, it’s a tough industry in that sense.
Any new person would want his own coaches. That happens most of the time and it occurred last year with the womens team. Out with the old and in with the new. It has nothing to do with keeping the past alive. Chris wants his own staff to go with his philosophy. It is up to them to put a quality team on the court whether or not it includes players from last years team. I agree with Dennis that we will have a lot more information in the next couple of weeks.
Coach Ack says that he is still working with all of the players on last year's team to try to get them to stay. The next couple of weeks is going to tell us a LOT about what next year's team and staff are going to be!
He also said he wants to keep the players that were here. That's a huge contradiction since coaches, Scholl and Carey recruited many, if not all, those players. Well, Kader recruited Lassina.
We should know something next week. He has said that he will not be retaining any of the existing staff!
Any word on who the asst basketball coaches for men's basketball will be? This will be an important component for recruiting players.
