The business of the NIL is not simple. The school creates a collective. The athlete and their parents can hire an agent to negotiate for them.
Now the school has to decide where to direct donors. The LBSU Athletic Dept has a huge budget challenge. They desperately need money to run the department to offer a competitive program that Will attract good student athletes. If donors give solely to NIL it could create a budget shortage. NiL will solely benefit the athlete.
The power 5 conferences are for the most part the only programs that can successfully promote NIL without having budget shortages for their athletic programs. This will not be the same for mid majors.
This is a system that is destined for failure. I will not donate to NiL. I will continue to donate to the LBSU Athletic Dept.
