Flipping popular culture vernacular on its head has never really been in right leaning politicians wheelhouse as far as things they do effectively. The fact “woke” ended up in the widely accepted pejorative bucket has as much to do with what comes out of the mouth of Bill Marr and Dave Chappell as a couple of mean girl Republican Congressmen(women).

The right-leaning politicians has taking an urban term that had a positive connotation and have flipped it on its head and now has a negative connotation.
