Both us and Fullerton St have had a few rough seasons in a row with both UCI and UCSB dominating with solid recruiting classes. We are in need of a coach that can complete for the best So Ca talent. Pitching, especially starting pitching, which used to be our strong point has really been struggling.
Myles Patton was our best recruited pitcher pitched well early in his soph year but has missed the 2nd half of the season. Assume he suffered an injury.

To me, Valenzuela underachieved, especially in conference play. Believe his last two years he finished fifth and seventh? I salute Peters for taking the interim position and trying to hold the program together with his only assurance being to see if he could pull a rabbit out of a hat, overachieve in 24 and be given a contract to rebuild the program. Where the Dirtbags ended up is right where the preseason polls had predicted. Remember that Peppi and Saldivar both left for Fresno State NIL money. Both were hitting well over .300 the last a checked a few weeks ago.

This is good. Smitheran needs to bring in his own guy to run the program and this team unachieved this year. Bring in someone from a solid baseball program to turn this around. Previous Message
