He was announcing a Long Beach State basketball game on TV from The Pyramid after it first opened and was providing random color during the game (of course endlessly about UCLA and the Pac 12). But, he did say, "I think The Pyramid is the best college arena on the west coast...after Pauly Pavilion."

Big Bill dies of Cancer at age 71. He was a great college and NBA player and a great human being.
