Our best group in my lifetime was a team that played Eugene Phelps at center. Sure if he were have to guard the Purdue center, he struggled, but they made up for that deficiency other ways.
Adaptability in the new NCAA paradigm is going to be a must.
Good information. Thanks.
Next season looks to be an exciting fun season. New Coach, new team. Can’t wait. Now how about the schedule.
Doesn't matter. We can just go out and get different guys next year. The portal works good and bad for teams like Long Beach.
Good post. Thanks.
Bigs
Austin Johnson 6-9 Sr
Christian Richardson 7-0 Jr
Derrick Xzavierro 6-10 So
Andrew Nagy 6-9 Fr
Wings
Cam Denson 6-7 Sr
Ramel Lloyd Jr. 6-6 Fr
Kamren Martin 6-4 Fr
Eli Djordjevic 6-8 Fr (guessing he had a medical RS)
Guards
Devin Askew 6-3 Sr
TJ Wainwright 6-3 Jr
Jason Hart Jr 6-2 So
Varick Lewis 6-3 So
2 more to go? Is Eli on a scholarship or a walk on? I think another big wing defender or versatile big who can shoot would be a good addition. And a 3 pt specialist.
Starters: Crystal Ball

A pretty good balance of size. Johnson is the bull inside, maybe Denson is physical too. Lloyd is listed as a pg but maybe more a point forward on this team? Hart looks ready to be the backup pg I like Lewis defensive toughness but he needs a lot of coaching up on offense.
I see the makings of a competitive BW squad. Askew and Wainwright leading in scoring, Lloyd Jr. will have plenty of court time to develop and become a do-it-all type, Austin seems plug and play 5-8 ppg and 5-8 rpg and a couple blocks.
Big ? is Richardson ready for DI? Is Xzavierro recovered? How dramatically different will be the coaching styles, game prep, player development, in-game strategy, offense and defense schemes?
Kam Martin might raise a few eyebrows.
Whatever happens with the players, don't get used to them too much. A frustrating aspect of college sports now.
