I saw a practice last week and we have 2 good 6'10"post players in Johnson and DMX. Richardson at all of 7'1" is athletic and runs to court well. He towers over the rest of the team. The roster is filled with quick athletic players. There are no ponderously slow players on this team as there may have been in the past. We seem to be solid at the guard and small forward positions. Buley, the frosh from Palm Springs, can hit the 3 ball consistently and the 6'9" Frosh from Orange Lutheran is mobile and has skills.
I was impressed with Acker and the other coaches as they run a fast paced intense practice stressing offensive and defensive fundamentals. I believe we will not finish in 8th place and I see us at 5th or 4th or higher. Acker doesn't seem to be a coach who will put up with any nonsense or turmoil.I am impressed with the coaches and players to date. Of course we haven't played a game yet so time will tell.
