The USF Dons are 2-0 with wins over SLO and Boise St. at home.
Dons shot poorly (25%) against SLO from deep, improved vs Boise St. 39%. Best at this time to call them an avg team from deep.
FTs they hit at a high clip so far, 85% or so.
Nothing else really stands out from their box scores.
Dons Starters (both games)
Malik Thomas: Sr, 6-5 G
Marcus Williams: Sr, 6-2 G
Ndewedo Newbury: Sr, 6-7 235 F
Carlton Linguard: Sr, 7-0 225 C
Tyrone Riley: Fr, 6-6 G
4 out of 5 are seniors. The guards doing most of the scoring.
Williams 6-10 from deep. Thomas 1-8. Riley 3-11.
Williams 6 assists per game but around 4 TOs as well.
Newbury had 10 rebounds v Boise. Linguard does ok scoring and rebounding.
Bench
Jason Rivera-Torres: So, 6-6 180. Productive scorer also had 8 boards vs SLO.
James O'Donnell: Fr, 6-9 230. Gets some boards 10 mpg.
Rest of bench an unknown, Ryan Beasley had 24 minutes vs Boise and was unproductive, didn't play vs SLO.
Odds
We match up nicely size wise. We have a little more size up front with DMX. Good matchup for Richardson against a guy his size who is decently productive. This will be all about the guards. Askew and Wainwright should equal out their gaurds, Kam Martin v Riley a couple frosh off to good starts, their F Newbury v we can throw Denson and Johnson at him.
I like our chances in this game after what we did up in South Dakota. USF will be home favorites but maybe we can pull this one out.
GO BEACH!!!
