Without offers on NIL $$ players, like the Traores and Jones will leave for the schools that have good NIL funds. Whether we like it or not, that's the current world of college athletics. Today, it's play for pay. I am hearing that some of the perennially dominant HS football programs across the nation are creating NIL funds.
I hate all of the changes personally, but hope that our coaching staff can work the portal and make it work for us. Both the men and the women are off to a good start and have been fun to watch we all of the new players!!!
I just had a thought about Mid Major recruiting. We have 3 3 star or better players committed for next year. I wonder if the transfer portal has allowed mid majors to get higher rated players as freshman. If we keep them a year or two it helps our program. Both of this years freshman will be impact players. Mix portal and lower class players and it could lead to success. Everybody is going to have roster changes every year--the way of life in today's college basketball.
