Hopefully this game helps the team develop for the future.
I doubt the payday is that much as their arena only holds 6,000 fans.
The 84-41 shellacking makes sense when you realize the way we thrashed La Verne and Cal Tech, that is how much better Gonzaga is than us. We got the payday, hopefully no injuries (physical or mental) hop on a plane, come back and prep for a Saturday matinee with Fresno St. Back in the ol days we'd get 4-5 of these every non conference playing too many bodybags so a certain coach could skim his vig...and a couple of those complete thrashings would be on the road against mid major teams...and often at home getting whomped like that. Remember last year CSUN coming into the Mid and steamrolling us? In a year we had the talent to get into the dance?
Not saying things will get any better for sure, but I bet they will, and we need a few paydays to balance the budget. I had zero hope we would do anything other than get whomped up north this evening. I just got home and won't watch any of the lowlights. Will be in the Myd Saturday rooting the guys on and hoping they can beat what is probably a solid Fresno St. team.
This is going to be a very tough season. Will be hard to watch a lot of the games. They are going to need to lower ticket prices for the next season.
