I agree with everyone who posted yesterday that we had a choke job beyond compare in yesterdays game. I also would say that the talent that coach Acker recruited this year IS over-rated. One thing to remember from yesterday is we DID play very good basketball for the first 37 minutes of this game. We hit threes, rebounded well, played very good defense most of the game and had a good number of assists. Even our bigs of Johnson and Nagy played well. Granted Fresno is not a good team but probably on a par with Cal Poly and some other decent Big West teams. We have been blown out by a very good USF team and maybe the best team in the country in Gonzaga. We played a very good South Dakota State very well on a night when they opened their brand new 6000 seat arena. Not an easy task! Yes, we lost to Portland and Fresno who are not strong teams but could both compete in the Big West. I'm not saying that this team will finish Top 5 even in the Big West but I don't see them finishing last either. I have confidence in coach Acker. He is a good defensive coach and with Johnson and Nagy improving I feel their offense will be better by conference time. What happened yesterday wouldn"t happen again probably ever. I'm sure coach will work on ways to break a press, and we do have guards who can handle pressure. You all know me as being very impatient with Monson teams throughout the past but I say let's give coach and the players more time. They may only win 5-7 games this year which is exactly what Monson did in his first year. The future recruits look very good and I think eventually we'll be back contending in the Big West in a few years,
