First off, Monson is gone and not coming back. Second, it takes time to build a program, Acker is signed for 5 years and not going anywhere, we need to give him time to build his program.

But, when you say Monson was horrible, he was never as bad as this year's team has been so far. Realistically, he was far more mediocre than horrible. Even in his first year, he was far more competitive than this year's team has been so far. And that was before the transfer portal era, when it took far longer to build something. To be clear for the haters, I am not suggesting that Monson should have been retained. He was too expensive for what he produced, but in 17 years here he finished in the bottom half of the BW 4 times (three in his last 5 years is why it was time for a change). Monson was far from horrible as a Coach at LB. But in my opinion, given the budget restrictions and the leadership here (JCC), I think he did an amazing job.
