I don't think we have a chance for top 3. Not enough firepower this year. I feel our ceiling is around 5th or 6th. But now I think our floor is more like 9th.

What a difference a week makes! We have gone from likely finishing near the bottom and not making the BW Tourney to possibly finishing in the top 3. Credit goes to the coaches and players for turning things around. Previous Message
Foolerton and Hawaii are two of the weaker teams in the Big West so far (besides us). Especially foolerton. I thought Hawaii wasn't as good as they typically are, but still pretty good.
UCI and UCSD will be very tough. Bake seems like the only other 'weaker' team. If we keep improving, we should make the BWT but I don't think we have enough talent to compete at the top of the BWC this year. But I am optimistic about the recent big improvement and the team starting to get it and the pieces working better together. Previous Message
My hope is that we finish in the top half of the BW and make the tourney. I'll be happy with a top-half finish and elated with a top 3 finish. It's early with only 2 BW games and the good thing is we don't play another BW game until January so the coaches have time to work on teaching the team on O and D. DMX and Denson need to step up and play to their potential to give us more depth. The Pepperdine game will be a good indicator to see if we can keep getting wins. Previous Message
Monday, December 9th, 2024... Both MBB and WBB at Long Beach are undefeated in Big West play and are currently tied for 1st place in Big West Basketball standings. Way to go coaches, coaching staffs, and AD, Bobby Smitheran!!! Hope that we can keep this going! Go 49'ers!!!
