Random recent stuff on Chance Dastrup, Gavin Sykes, and Dallas Washington, class of 2025
Long Beach State Commit Chance Dastrup is smooth and has a great IQ. Dastrup controls Orem (UT) offense one of the best PG’s here at The Classic.
Chamberlain Burgess and Chance Dastrup led the Tigers (10-1) with 19 points each, both contributing multiple 3-pointers.
SANTA MARGARITA 78, CORONA CENTENNIAL 75: The Eagles finished The Classic at Damien going 3-1 to capture the Platinum Division title. Brayden Kyman had 25 points, eight rebounds and three steals to lead the Eagles. Drew Anderson had 19 points and eight rebounds, Kaiden Bailey 17 points and Dallas Washington 13 points, nine rebounds and four blocks to lead the Eagles.
Santa Margarita 88, Los Alamitos 81: Brayden Kyman finished with 23 points, Kaiden Bailey had 19 and Dallas Washington 18 points for Santa Margarita.
SANTA MARGARITA 65, DAMIEN 54: The Eagles (10-2) were led by Kaiden Bailey who had 23 points, five 3-pointers and five rebounds. Dallas Washington had 14 points, five rebounds and three blocks and Drew Anderson 14 points and six rebounds for Santa Margarita.
Modesto Christian was led to victory by Elijah Payne and Gavin Sykes. Payne went 6 for 10 on his way to 17 points, while Sykes went 6 of 12 on his way to 17 points.
Gavin Sykes continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 9 for 12 on his way to 21 points. The contest was his fifth in a row with at least ten points.
while Long Beach State-bound Gavin Sykes hit a day-high 38 points for the Crusaders.
Gavin Sykes (2025, Modesto Christian) is about is calm as it gets and when he is at point for this Modesto Christian squad, they are hard to stop.
The Long Beach St. signee is a strong bodied combo guard who is methodical in everything he does in the court. His pace allows him to survey the court and get to his spots effectively.
Sykes very capable shooter when the ball is swung back to him, and is able to utilize his athleticism when attacking the rack.

Gavin hit the mark today with 21 points in a win over American Fork (Utah) at the Tarkanian Classic in the Nike Division. This is only the 14th time in MC boys basketball history for a player to accomplish this feat.
