Maybe not such a great idea to schedule that way, but I’m not pinning the loss on that. Also, the football playoff’s a bad comp. Every one of those teams that lost was being picked to lose those games, Boise and ASU by double digits. Georgia’s starting QB got knocked out for the year the prior game. Only Oregon showed up inexplicably flat. NFL teams work pretty hard to secure a bye week in their playoffs, and teams have a pretty large sample of winning more often coming off a bye versus a team that didn’t. Even in CFB, if they can get away with it teams try and schedule an off week or a non conference cupcake the week before a large rivalry game.

10 days without a game is too long this time of year. I think that had something to do with the way we played last night. UCR played a tough game on Monday and I think that gave them a edge. Sometimes layoffs are not good. All the College playoff teams that had a bye in the first round lost (0-4). We were out of the flow that had been developed the last 5 games.
