He will be here for a while so we have no choice. We can't fire coaches. Have to wait for contracts to expire. Previous Message
How he does in the transfer portal after this season ends will tell us a lot about how well his program performs going forward. Previous Message
I watched yesterday's game and left with major concerns about Aker's ability as a coach. First of all he is a yeller at players, not positive. He reminded me of Turner with his criticism after a play was done-and I know how much we all like Turners court activities. Second, we are running the same offense game after game-which means no passing. The teams we have played the last few weeks have defended us exactly the same and we continue to run the same patterns. The team does not know how to pass-it's dribble, dribble, dribble shot, or turn the ball over. We have absolutely no changes after the half time break. Other teams have gone on a scoring run against us and we have done nothing to modify our system (at half time). Others on the board have said he is a new coach, give him time. Other schools with new coaches have succeeded and improved. I hope Cal Poly wins on Thursday and ends their losing streak or they will on Saturday against us. He have height, experienced players, and scoring ability, but we have regressed. At this point I think Acker is over his head and I am disappointed.
