Too bad it never became a 7,200-seat arena. Previous Message
Fun article to look back...

They used to have open gym hours that were never advertised. Normally became more of an athletic department and university staff open run, with some quality students who played in high school mixed in.
A few classes would be in there occasionally, but not as their main space, more to observe a practice as part of their classwork, but out soon after.
Though never really used that way, it did get brought up that the university is limited in the changes it can make based on the contract. I remember seeing someone cite that once, but that was ages ago and can't remember the details, and my brain could be mixing that up. Previous Message

I’ve always wondered about the notion of the Pyramid as a general recreational space for the school. That was clearly the intent, or at least sold as the intent, when gathering funding, I’ve just never stopped by when it wasn’t locked up, empty, or being used by one of our teams for practice. Other than renting it out, does the general student body get to use it for anything (classes, intramurals, etc)? Previous Message
Our building, with it's issues aside, is still the most visually stunning in the league, and has the best presence in my opinion.
Fix the roof (university should hop in here as it technically is a shared general recreation space, not an athletics only space), and if it has to be shut down for an extended period of time, get the fourth side done with a midlevel alumni deck/beer garden suite, and permanent seats down to floor level, with extra locker space underneath. Renovation is a wide term here. Some of that stuff is deferred maintenance. Previous Message
Meh? Most (not all) of the stuff on that list is the kind of stuff we actually do. Previous Message
Forward-thinking from UCI. I am jealous. Previous Message
