I was looking at Learfield from last year, and Cal Baptist was actually right where we were. Utah Valley way down. Cal Baptist XC programs can score a lot of points, and their soccer programs pop every so often. They had a better fall total compared to the Big West. We did not have a great fall this year, and really could only be expected to score in WVB, MWP, and WSoc. Spring has been our best season recently. Cal Baptist has regionally/nationally competitive XC and women's soccer. I noticed a school like Saint Mary's, low on learfield, but has built a reputation as being the #2 WCC team in MBB, and now #1 this year. Very isolated small college, so maybe dreaming more success in other sports won't work for them. I like our balanced athletic program, and still think we can compete on the field in 5 or 6 sports nationally. MVB is special, WVB has a chance, still think we could turn MBB and WBB around and be top 100 program that flirts in the top 50, Baseball/softball, the Waterpolos, women's soccer. Track can always have one great athlete pop and score nationally. |
