Sports are entertainment in the BW. We are lucky to have the best value entertainment in the area.  Previous MessageWhile Taylor, Ganot and Barnes may merit the axe, I wonder what the expectations are for MBB at those schools. Previous MessageBarnes is super old school, which I don't think is an asset to him. But I also think there's a ceiling at Bakersfield, and while he probably hasn't hit it...I'm not sure how many other coaches are going to do better. So I would not advocate firing him. Acker definitely should get a more extended look to see what he can build. But if there's not significant improvement this time next year than he might be quick to join this list. I really dislike Jim Les. No reason to fire him. He's just a crybaby. Previous MessageDang he looks 70 lol Previous MessageI was surprised to find that Barnes is only 59 years old. I thought he was near retiring. It has to be very hard to recruit to Bakersfield. Previous MessageI believe there should be 3 BW coaches that get the axe in 2 weeks. First would be coach Taylor at Fullerton, they closer to D2 than D1 right now but of course they did beat Long Beach. Second should be coach Ganot at Hawaii, he has been there ten years or so and their AD can't be thrilled with being on the border of missing the BWT. Third should be coach Barnes at Bakersfield. He is another guy that has been there for many many years and really Bakersfield has been a bottom feeder since they joined the BW. Those are my top 3 that should be fired. I would put Acker on there as well but we all know this is his first year. |
