They may have robust academic and other money, but they will no longer have formal athletic scholarships for football or otherwise.
They will need to fundraise for football, but most their trips are now short bus rides to the likes of Redlands, Pomona Pitzer, etc. Previous Message
Scholarships are only the partial cost of football. Private school can charge what they want for tuition. Previous Message
APU is moving from D2 to D3? Previous Message
Interesting, giving up on scholarships and going DIII in all sports, but bringing football back. This is the model of many liberal arts colleges back east and midwest. They use football as a recruiting tool for male students who have stopped going to college at the same rate as females.
This was for years an arguement that never got heard on campus at LB, that for example the track team has 12.1 and 18.1 scholarships for men and women, but fields a team of 90, thus bringing ~60 paying members to the university. That never gets discussed in budget considerations, but also has a much greater impact at private schools who aren't paying much less tuition. Previous Message

We’re making the bold transition to NCAA Division III, joining the competitive Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC). This move strengthens our commitment to academic excellence, a well-rounded student experience, and championship-level competition.
