As long as we don't drop athletics, we can keep being the tier below and competing for a tournament spot. Turnover will be what it is going to be. 14 teams from the SEC is silly. Texas did poorly in conference, and didn't really do well outside of it. Then ACC UNC 1-12 against the top rung proved they didn't belong. Yet the carpet gets rolled out for them for the committee head to feel good. ![]() To me, it is all about the players. They either perform or not. Consistency is key; if they don't perform and are inconsistent, the result is never positive. ![]() Agree there must be simple systems a player can learn in a few months. Last season I saw Acker yelling at several players many times during games when they were out of position on O or D. This happened even in the last 1/3 of the past season. Either his systems were too complex or the players didn't have the ability to master them in one season. I think it was more on the players than on the systems as the systems didn't seem that complex to me. ![]() This free flow of funds will decisively split the haves and have nots. As a have not, the strategy of JUCOs, bounce backs who got NIL but little PT, HS guys under the radar who need development, and a offense defense system easy to learn, focus on team player types, all doable with a lot of work and a dedicated system. The suck part is that one guys develops beyond expectations, he's gone the next year. I look forward to being in a different league entirely than the haves, let them implode on their greed. ![]() College sports are now professional play-for-pay. The game as we knew it is gone. ![]() NCAA today, as yet another settlement, will now permit NIL money to be negotiated during the recruiting process. Previously, this could only be 'officially' done after arriving on campus. Now, it's part of the recruiting process. And, boosters involved. https://www.espn.com/college-sports/story/_/id/44294511/ncaa-let-athletes-negotiate-nil-deals-enrollment |
