What NIL did for low to mid majors hindered developing a culture and players. Formerly you could develop 2-3 guys coming up together every class, they could build chemistry, learn a system, and outplay a more talented roster or become more talented with work. Now you basically have a year maybe two if a guy contributes. Maybe you can bump him up and not take on another revenue sharing or NIL guy. As long as we are D1, guys will fill that role for a year or two. Up to admins and us as contributors to bring more people in the fold. Was really tough to do under Jane, but I don't think she did it intentionally. ![]() two of their more productive guys Washington and Adams hit the portal. Pretend we had a great year and guys were happy with the coaches, and at best we could offer them $5k but other teams were offering them $50k+. What would you do if you've never had much money, or your family could use some financial support? Or you just wanted some bling in your life. NIL rhymes with KILL because it diminishes programs like ours to be able to build anything. NIL WILL KILL ![]() As we develop players they will leave LBS for the money elsewhere. |
