Not surprised, the draw hasn't been great. If they had gotten Georgia Tech maybe you get some excitement. With Power conferences getting so many NCAA bids, and the College Basketball Crown contractually pulling away Big East, Big Ten, and Big 12 teams, this year it looks more like the CBI than the NIT. A lot of historically solid mid major basketball programs and a few power teams from ACC. I mean the Big West go three teams into the NIT, part of which is we actually had a mid major type year not a low major, but mainly it was other teams declining. Top Teams from the Big East, Big Ten and Big 12 either had to accept the Crown bid or were contractually forbidden from playing in the NIT. I think NIL and transfers has taken the motivation from these teams wanting more games as well. CBI will probably go away, NIT will probably shorten if Crown is successful. ![]() Yes, but what about all the other fans? ![]() To be fair, UCI has spring break this week and NIT is not part of the season ticket plan. ![]() SAD!!! ![]() UCI Attendance the past 2 NIT games: 1,302 and 1,378 ![]() I watched a good bit of the game. I find it really disappointing how empty the Bren was. Getting to the third round of the NIT is a pretty big deal and the Bren appeared to be more than half empty. ![]() Defeats UAB 81-77 Goes to NIT Final Four Chattanooga vs Loyola, Chicago UCI vs North Texas. |
