Could you imagine MLB players having only 1 year contracts and being eligible for free agency after each season?  Previous MessageThe problem is that the P-4 Conferences say they will leave the NCAA and form their own organization if the NCA puts in place rules they don't like. Div 1 basketball is in total disarray since NIL and players transferring without sitting out a year. The mid-majors have little input to any changes the P-4 schools won't agree with. College hoops have changed so much in the last four years that I am about to find something else to be interested in and watch. Previous MessageAs of today 28% of all division 1 basketball players are in The portal. The number is actually much higher when you take into account all the seniors that have no eligibility left. No one can think this is the best thing for college basketball. The number will get close to 50% soon. It is very common today to see a kid play at 3 or 4 different colleges.
