We have never been a money rich program. We have done well in spite of the finances and being whatever tier you want to call it for entertainment dollars in the LA/OC area.

Out stalwart coaches all found it harder to succeed after they had great success. Jenny's tennis streak ended and has been a top 3 type program recently, but not expected to win. Softball couldn't get past the regional, but Pete had the same issue after the World Series years as well. Gimmillarro didn't have the same success at the end, missing 4 of 5 tourneys. Sythe got the men's team rolling and found some success with women. Mauricio has been solid in recent years, but no one expected another NCAA run recently. Gavin again super solid but hasn't dominated post MPSF split. Shauna has gotten the women more competitive in the pool since they split the programs. Golf is actually rolling right now as well.

I still see a lot of good, but the nature of athletics has changed, and I don't like it. If our historical flagship programs were doing better during this NCAA upheaval, we might not be so gloomy. But MBB needs a serious bounceback. WBB needs to compete for the title. And WVB we had what most thought was a dream getting Tyler back, and he left.
