We don't have a Devin Askew type on the team and I don't expect anyone will be that much a focal point and ball dominant as Askew was. I expect to see a lot more ball distribution partly because we were far too Askew dominant last year, also because no one seems to have the type of abilities Askew had...though I think this is a good thing Previous Message

Could Break Through and Get Minutes
Gondrezick: Offense
Jones: Defense
Hart and Alexander may both get spot minutes as defenders mostly
Assessment
1. 11 new guys and it seems most fit the character needs of coach Acker which seems to be extremely important
2. Guard heavy will play 2 bigs and 3 guards/wings usually and sometimes 1 big and 4 guards/wings
3. Defensive depth: most everyone seems to be a rugged defender type. Expect a big uptick in defensive intensity
4. Shooters: decent enough but won't be a trademark of the team. I think more points will be scored off defensive transition with all the ballhandlers in the rotation.
5. Majstorovic might be a huge addition, maybe a 10 ppg 7 rpg and be a high post passer allowing DMX to develop more offensively
6. Sykes and Washington have potential and will get the minutes to be all BW freshman
7. Wildcard is Farrell, he could be our glue guy
8. True Wings and pure shooting guards, we don't have. All the guards seem to be at least guys who can bring the ball up, and the bigger guards all seem rugged enough to play the wing decently.
What I hope is that having guys who don't screw around at all will temper coach Acker who seems to have a short fuse and needs high character teams. I assume this is why these guys were signed and reading through the press releases it is a common theme.
Hopefully this gets us all talking about basketball during the slow part of the season. Previous Message
Or more precisely, the last DI transfer.
I don't know if we have any remaining slots, but if we do, we always could sign a DII or lower or late HS signing and still keep this statement true.
Or we are done. Either way, Welcome to the Beach Petar you will get a ton of minutes most likely. Previous Message

of note, this will be our last transfer signing according to the press release.
Majstorovic is expected to be the final Division I transfer for the program , joining Demarshay Johnson Jr. in the frontcourt, both coming from elite programs and supplementing returning starter Derrick Michael Xzavierro and highly touted recruit Dallas Washington. Other Division I transfers for the Beach include guards Shaquil Bender from Manhattan, Grant Gondrezick II from Detroit Mercy, Isaiah Lewis from Little Rock, and Cole Farrell from Portland State.
