Responding to 2001 grad: I’ve wondered about a couple of things regarding the hold Scott Appel has placed:

* many of us have made Tyler out to be the bad guy. But wonder if a year after his hire and a new athletic reporting strucutr, if promises made regarding program support under Andy Fee and assume endorsed by Jane, those promises were walked back by Appel?
*. The decision to walk away from hosting the NCAA beach volleyball championships very late in trimester. Same question holds -did Appel and Jane push the walk away? Not a good luck considering the NCAA had awarded to Long Beach 2-4 years prior to 2025.

As I recall; and anyone please correct me, but Smitheran’s contract called out being within budget by 1% or else. In this day and age, so many university athletics programs are chalking up deficits. Look at UCLA as prime example.
