I remember that Ron was very fast and played with great hustle. I hope he comes to the Beach.

Son of Ron and Crystal Johnson, 2027 recruit. According to Frank Burlison he's getting a lot of attention all of a sudden, good for him! In a recent posting on his website, Burlison says:
"As was the case throughout the first three days of the event, Mayfair High’s 6-foot-3ish senior-to-be guard Josiah Johnson was the best player on the floor in both Sunday games, scoring 28 points with seven rebounds and five assists in the finale.
Johnson (pictured) didn’t pick up his first scholarship “offer” from a D-I program until early June after attending the team camp at Long Beach State (where his mom and dad, Ron and Crystal, played in the late 1990s).
By late Sunday afternoon, however, Johnson – a second-team, BurlisonOnBasketball SoCal all-Juniors selection after last season – had become one of the hottest commodities in the west (and beyond) from his graduating class.
Dutcher and Musselman (Saturday night) and Cronin (Sunday morning) were among the head coaches taking long looks at him."
It doesn't specifically say he picked up an offer from LB but reading between the lines I think he did, and the fact he attended a camp at LB I guess means we are cultivating a relationship with him, all of that makes sense.
However, he's received an offer from UCLA now, so he's going big time. SDSU and U$C are interested as well.
That said, this is what you do with legacy kids who are breaking up and out above our recruitment zone. Maintain a relationship. If it doesn't pan out elsewhere, maybe he portals over to LB.
I wish him the best wherever he ends up, Ron and Crystal were great at LB. I consider RJ one of the smartest most hard-nosed and efficient guards I've ever seen at the Beach. I loved his game from day one.
If you want to read Burlison's occasional postings, almost all about HS talent in SoCal and various tournaments and the HS bball season, check it out here.

I always thought Frank was one of the best at the LBPT and covered LB and the surrounding area better than anyone, although the 562 does that in spades now.
