I think sports at the collegiate level is at risk, unless you have revenue and donors willing to play the new game.

Does anyone think UCR is better off than they were four years ago when rumors of their demise were being floated? I know LB has had a small rally of committed donors recently, but all the Big West has to improve in this area. We still have the weird retiring Pres and placeholder Brotman setup right?

The days of being the scrappy D1 were blown up with NIL and Revenue share agreements.

The WCC might have more recognizable names, but a lot of their institutions were struggling financially at the institution level. Big West is fine without UCSD, and hurt by the move at the same time. CBU is a solid add. Utah Tech and Sac gives some short term comfort.

I don't see D2's locally coming up, so Big West still would be falling point for people losing football (SJSU for example).

I massive Big West WCC hybrid might be on the horizon.
