Last year, I was sure we had the talent to be middle of the pack. I think we did have the talent, but the team never gelled, and Acker seemed unable to adjust.

I think we might have the talent, I don't really know. I think our frontcourt was ineffective last season, and think there is reason to believe we will be better in the frontcourt.

I thought Acker was saying the right things, and I liked his hire. I liked the thought of a Coach who could really develop a team. But, last season the team regressed rather than developed.

I think Acker took a different direction this season, I think he considered attitude and culture. This was a lesson that Monson had to learn too. But, on paper, it does not appear that we have as much raw talent as last season. It will be interesting to see if Acker can get his reputation as a developmental coach revived.

Bottom line, I have no idea where we will finish. It would not surprise me if we were middle of the pack, nor would it be a shock to me if we finished last. In the words of my old friend Old Timer, I have high hopes and low expectations.
