I too was in favor of bringing in a new coach that would be lead us to greener pastures.

Last year we were 3-17 in BW play and 7-25 overall. I am afraid we might not exceed last years win total.

Also, I wouldn't want to play Eastern Washington now as the look pretty decent and would probably beat us by double digits.

The correct decision was made, Dan Monson is an old school coach with some burnout issues and had peaked years ago. It was never getting any better than below expectatations overall. In the era of NIL and massive roster turnover at this level, he is ill suited for success. He had 17 years here and there was no perpetual excitement or any upward trajectory about the program.

The decision to hire Acker is squarely on Smitheran and so far appears to be a really bad hire. That doesn't mean firing/not renewing Monson was wrong, it was 100% the right decision.

I hope it turns around, I'm not a fan of Acker though his style rubs me wrong and he hasn't backed it up with any success at all, just a broken record of poorly designed offense and this year what seems to be a set of guards who can't shoot and don't appear to be suited for anything beyond very low level DI. Regardless I will remain a fan of LBSU sports and just hope better decisions are made in the future and success follows.

If we were playing well Acker would deserve the praise. But, his first season and the beginning of the second are not very inspiring, and despite the unevenness of the last several years, let's face it, Monson would not have let us drop to this level. I understood the desire to let Monson go when that decision was made, but I also noted that there was an issue in that the people making the replacement decision were not the kind to inspire great confidence and that things could get much worse. Unfortunately, they have. And in my opinion, the current state of things threatens our future in athletics.

Shut up!!!!! I love how so many on here all of a sudden want CDM back to coach when almost all of the people on here couldn't wait for him to leave and get someone new. CDM was burned out and was half the coach he used to be and the ONLY REASON he won the BWT in 2023 if the players finally put it together after he was fired. So please stop all this be careful what you wish for Bull S**t. If we were playing well you would be saying how great Acker is.

While Monson had issues to be sure, I believe I had said be very careful what you wish for….

LB is getting it good and hard. We can only offer a program and that require stability, at least Monson had a track record. Now, LB has nothing and are going to have a hard time making this float.

Yeah, lots of issues that Acker doesn't haven control over and are beyond LB control but wow, when the likes of SB and San Diego are way above LB that is a statement.

A LOT of this IMO is because of terrible upper management going back a while Look at San Diego State, and now look at LB. We cannot even have a flappin mascot, not even a damn brand.

Notice every other not insane school goes with State, while we sit too close to the chancellor's office and sink into a sea of sewage.

I wish this was Tark left and thisOlson guy with that Winter weirdo isn't as good. I am afraid we may say Monson was great, and that was a good time. it wasn't completely but holy cow. LB has got troubles without a clue how to climb out.

Volleyball is great, but the basketball programs are trouble.
