It's a nice gym, not an arena. They also are stretching the 3k number. Upgrade from their old haunt but still not great. Surprised they didn't paint some of the walls their dark green color on the lower level to hide the clearly government building look.
UCSB is getting some recognition in midmajor polls, not a lot yet though. Saint Mary's continues to make noise. They have handled their first three opponents, all of which were picked at top or near in the SoCon, Summit, and MAC. No Big West real notable wins yet. Some nice victories in the Dakotas, but Hawaii missed the chance at a true upset against Oregon.

Last night in front of a capacity crowd of 3,000 at Sac State's new Hornet Pavilion arena/gym UCSB won 92-87. Both teams looked very good! Sac State's new coach, Mike Bibby , a former 11 year NBA player, has recruited some decent talent, including Jeremiah Cherry, a 6'11" 250 lb center from UNLV.
The Hornet Pavilion on ESPN+ reminded me of the arena at UCR but it has a better scoreboard and medium-sized screen.
Sac State joins the BW Conference next season.
The game announcers said post-game that UCSB is very good and is projected to win 25 games this season. It is frustrating that UCI and UCSB have been dominant in the BW. Do you remember when LB State had that reputation?
