Defense takes a strong desire/work ethic, defensive basketball IQ, quickness, and physical strength. These are traits the players must have.
The coaches must put in place a good defensive system and motivate the players to implement the system. If the players can't implement the systems, it could be that they are unable to do so, and the systems need to be changed.
I am not sure which of these traits is missing when Portland scores 93 points against us.
