It doesn't matter who the coach is. Recruits are looking for compensation from our Anchor fund. Our Anchor Fund is too low to attract the kinds of players we would want on our team. The days of offering a scholarship and books are gone, and they aren't coming back.
The average fund in dollars for a mid to high mid-major basketball roster is 2.3 million. For a low mid-major basketball roster, the fund average is 525 thousand. We are at an all fund total of 200k now, so how do we expect to recruit against a school that has many times the funds we have? For LB recruiting it used to be about the weather, the arena, the educational value, etc. Those things have taken a back seat to play for pay today.
Here's the source from the NCAA.

A winning coach who moved on to more $$. She can recruit to a mid major and win. She is now at Mater Dei and winning there. I like our current coach, but she can't recruit. Third year of a five year contract. She might get frustrated and move on. Lots of good womenn bball playersw in the local area. No reason to have an 0 for the season team.
