Overall, the Hoosiers have increased their spending in football every year since 2021 when it was just less than $24 million, to $61.6 million a year ago, according to the Knight-Newhouse database. The 2024 season was the first since 2005 that IU exceeded the conference’s median in total football spending."
There is no way that college sports will ever become amateur sports again. I looked up UCSB's basketball fund, and it is at 525K. UCI's is at 1 million. Unless LB fans and supporters increase our fund, we have little chance of ruling the BW again. It is sad but true in the new reality of college professional sports. LB needs a Mark Cuban so we can at least compete with the BW UCs.
