Only way we get more than 5 wins in the BW is Sykes and Petar playing 40 mpg. Diaz is getting better but he had some issues with taller guards stealing his over the top passes. Farrell is a plus most the time but has a few bonehead plays or shots every game. We can't count on much from Shay / Leopold / DMX right now they are just big bodies with lots of issues.
Bender being available (out with flu) would have helped he can do some things.
Hallmarks of this team are: 1. Shay will have 1 illegal pick or screen every 5 minutes he plays; 2 Devillian will look smooth inside on offense and never finish; 3. Lewis will brick the one 3 pt attempt he takes; 4. 3-5 lazy passes on offense will be picked off by any alert defender.
DMX phantom ear injury?
A 10 pt loss at UCI shows LB has fight, proud of that they never gave up just got a bit too sloppy on offense and UCI got some mojo on offense in the 2nd half.
UCI plays within itself 95% of the time, we do 60% of the time. That's one of the big differences although its improving for LB slowly.

Announcers said UCI has like the 5th best FG% defense in the nation, plus the leading shot blocker. Throw in they have better overall talent, are at home, play a sound and consistent style that focuses on defense but always have good shooters, and UCI is only leading by 4 at the half.
One of my wishes for the game has come true, Turner has flipped his lid a few times as LB keeping it close.
Diaz is clearly our point guard yeah a little small but he's tough likes to mix it up and he doesn't spend more than a second dribbling in place and he's gone. Lewis even looking a little better since he can play a bit off ball, he has good length for a guard.
DMX got some minutes, Shay is a mixed bag one good play one bad...we need better odds not sure DMX answers that but why not, Devillian will be a work in progress for a couple years and Petar can't do everything.
Like 49erjr said we are starting to look like a team playing basketball, nowhere near polished like UCI usually is, but I think we've got more moxie than the nerds that counts for something. I actually enjoy watching our offense operate most the time. Previous Message
and some of Acker's recruits can't shoot very well anyway. Not a good combination. They are playing hard though.
