And that behavior also explains shy nearly everyone hits the Transfer Portal.

Good observations. Acker seems determined to make a statement with every stupid move he makes rather than put the best team on the court at all times. Player makes an understandable mistake, yank him immediately, its no wonder these guys are afraid to do anything on the fly. And he obviously plays favorites, probably these are guys that obey his every order and command, and I have no problem with that, but you have to put your best team on the court. Farrel had no business at the point with Diaz and Lewis fully available.
The only time the energy changed at all was with DMX in there. Otherwise everyone is mostly going through the motions. Season is another dead one. Another weak coaching hire we have to sit through now for 3 more years. Only good thought is that Acker will never have a winning season and there should be no choice but to not renew him.
I liked Acker when he was hired and his entry interviews seemed enthusiastic and promising, and he was coming from a very good SDSU program. He's a total sham. First game of the year at SDSU, was watching it and the commentator mentioned how SDSU HC Dutcher said that Acker has not yet even reached out to him to talk about running a program. I was like 'WTF?' and my opinion of him immediately dropped and now I see everything he said was a giant smokescreen. Bobby hired a familiar face and the decision reeks of no original thinking.

Does Cole Farrell have something on Chris Acker? He seems like a good kid, so this isn't a personal shot at Cole, but he's simply not good enough to be on the court.
On Farrell's last 44 attempts from INSIDE the arc, he has made just 13. That is 29.5 percent. That is impossibly bad. He is 3-17 from OUTSIDE the arc during that time. That is 16.7 percent.
Yet, instead of playing fewer minutes, he's now the starting point guard. A position he's not equipped to play.
Meanwhile Rob Diaz III, who is a fine player, didn't even touch the court in the second half. Diaz isn't elite, but he plays hard, rebounds, defends and can hit a shot.
To play Farrell at true point guard over Diaz reeks of weird favoritism or internal politics. Anyone with eyes can see who is better.
Then onto the front court. DMX — for some reason — never plays. He gets 8 minutes tonight miraculously. He got 6 rebounds and 3 points. Our other two centers got 5 total boards in 27 minutes.
Shay never rebounds. Never defends. He's good for a hero block every once in a while, but hes not a viable option. There's a reason he literally never played at SDSU.
He played long stretches without a point guard. It's personal sabotage of the program. Then in the postgame press conference tonight, Acker talks about how excited he is. He said it stunk they gave up leads. They literally never led. It's pure gaslighting.
Acker is 7-28 in the BW. He's 11-44 overall. It's clear he cannot do this job. Please Bobby, if you read these, do what you have to to restore this program.
