We do have an AD learning on the job. He didn't pick Amy. But his hires are questionable as well. All have a lot of time to improve with their contracts. My suggestion is to switch Amy to men's basketball. She wants to run and gun and then Acker to women's basketball for one year so they can both learn. We also need someone to coach up Smitheran to improve him. We can not bring in coaches from San Diego State.
We also need to find a way to keep players so we don't rebuild every year.

Learning on the job?
Not new to coaching in LB.
6 years as a head coach at Nevada.
3 years as Assoc Head Coach at TCU?
2nd year back here.
Learning?
Now, if his hands are tied because of this incompetent, pro-athlete AD... otherwise, learning????
Is 'still learning' the A.D.'s latest excuse line?

I agree with you at this given time, but I still have hope that our WBB, MBB, and Dirtbags coaches are doing a little learning on the job. MBB and WBB have been down, but seem to be getting closer to success from time to time during the past season. TJ is still learning as well. This has not been a good start to the season, but I have hope that as the seasons goes along, that we will find our way back to contention.
Always enjoy your posts, and hope that over time, my view of the future comes true before yours!!!

Well 49er Jr. it looks like I was correct about TJ Bruce. He was a great assistant coach at TCU but is awful at Long Beach. What a shame that probably our top successful sports in history have fallen this far. Both Men's and Women's basketball coaches are just as inept as coach Bruce. Long Beach State in the 70's and 80's were Top 10 teams in all three sports. Shameful the product that is put on the field nowadays. Better wake up Bobby S. - the clock is ticking as they say!!
