She fell into the job, from the interim post at UCR that she also fell into. She wanted to return to UCSB, and instead was recommended/encouraged to apply to CSULB.
I don't know many things that she did in her time here that was viewed as advancing the prestige of the university. A few more doctoral degrees came aboard. I'm sure she's really earning these consulting fees for another 6 months.
Not going to miss her.
Ohh, and while Prospector Pete has been locked away, they are building a monument and dedicating it in Miss Jane's honor. Can't make this up.

The way she went about it does not look like a person that was not solidly behind the name change. I think she had a talent to tell her audience what they wanted to hear in many cases. Previous Message
Jame has long ago changed her mind on the 49'er name issue. She did not agree with the change when it came down but did not fight it like she should have as OUR 49'er President!!!! Previous Message
Thank you Dennis for advocating the 49ers name to return to LBSU. Agree that if Jane in a limited scope is still involved with campus matters that explaining the need to bring back 49ers can be helpful. Not changing her mind but might offer insight to where something might be done.

You are certainly welcome to your opinion! Although Jane is retired, she is still involved to a limited degree and I am taking advantage of that. Previous Message
I cannot see where talking with Jane the former president of CSULB would help. She is the one who promoted the name change along with the Beach without the crossbar in the A. She defunded the alumni association and downgraded the Presidents Scholars program. Many donors were lost because of what she did.
She has retired. We need to move on from her.
