Why was Acker picked. Was anyone else considered?

He must get better because he is under contract for three more years. He has to reach for better players even if it is just for one year.

Pay for play is the status quo, and if we can't pay, we will get the same type of players we have had in the last 2 years. I am not sure why, when Acker arrived, there was no NIL money at all. Why did this happen??? I feel at this point, we need some big donors of a hundred thousand dollars to build a program. Not sure why the top finishers in the BW have a million-dollar fund to work with, and we have a third of that. Is it our leadership or the LB community?

I agree with everything he says. What he leaves out is you need someone who knows how to get the best out of whatever crumbs he can retain with a measly budget, and this coaching staff ain't it. Acker makes it sound like if he had a $1 million annual NIL budget, which would be around the tops in the BW, he would win the BW. BullShi+! He'd get 5 more wins and compete better, but the coaching wouldn't change, its underwhelming.
Claims we have nearly $400k NIL budget. Wants every dollar you can squeeze out directed to bball NIL. Guess what Acker? You had enough talent do to better and anyone watching the team closely knows it. I won't give you a dime until you prove you can do more with whatever you have. I can't afford to throw my money at problems hoping they go away.
Here is a rundown of why you only led the team to 10 wins in your second year:
3 pt loss at UOP
2 pt home loss v S. Illinois
6 pt home loss v Montana St
4 pt home win v San Diego
7 pt OT loss at UCSB
6 pt home loss v UCSD
6 pt OT loss at SJSU
3 pt home win v Pepperdine
6 pt home win v Bake
7 pt win at CSUN
3 pt home loss v UCSB
7 pt home loss v Hawaii
3 pt road loss v UCSD
4 pt home loss v Foolerton
2 pt home loss v CSUN
1 pt home win v Bake
6 pt OT home loss v UCD
These were all the winnable games, and many we had a lead, sometimes significant. Total record in these games: 5-12. 7 losses were at home.
You need to go at least 10-7 in these games and win most of the home ones to even be competitive, and I think you had the talent to do better. Its not NIL that is the problem, its too many years of your predecessor being burned out and bleeding out support, your inexperienced ineffectivenss punctuating that, and in turn the NIL support is low. Who wants to give your team financial support when your teams consistently wilt under late game pressure? Its clear you are in over your head and no amount of begging is gonna fix it.
NIL is a freaking joke and LBSU will never be able to weaponize a fund to out bid other BW schools for talent. Most of the BW will struggle to maintain this. The reality at LB is an ever tightening budget and the only way to get MBB back in focus is a coaching staff that can do a lot with a little. You don't seem to be it!
Good luck next year. Prove to me and others the program is worth giving to before throwing the blame on us for your lack of coaching abilities.
I knew this was coming and was saving up my rant for it. Good day Beach fans!
