I don't know if focusing on men's basketball will be relevant in a few years. Currently it still is, because if the haves and have nots officially schism, I still want us to be in the top level. Does that mean all sports member in either MW/Pac? I don't know, but putting the department in best situation should always be the focus.

There was a rumor in Vic's second or third year he was pushing for membership in the MW to get the conference officially in the LA market. I wish it would have happened if we could have done it. MVB would be in the MPSF with former Pac members so while travel would increase it would be manageable. Only ones who really hurt travel wise are rotationals, WVB, Baseball, Softball. Water Polos would have found a home in MPSF/GCC. Track/CC and golf would just have one big travel for conference, and for golf they travel as is so not really a change.

Dismantling the booster groups at the department level and then the Alumni Association at the university level eliminated the connection to many programs. I don't know what I would donate to or how it is spent anymore, and that's a problem.
