Here are the records for men's hoops for the last 19 years. What does this data show? The data is for the records at the end of the season in April.
I posted in 2024 that it was time for a new coach, so I was not a diehard Monson supporter. Granted that Acker has had only 2 seasons at Long Beach to build a winning program. Monson was 6-25 and 3-13 in his first year, but improved in his second season to 15-15, 10-6. The transfer portal opened on 10-15-2018, and NIL began on 7-1-2021. Monson only had to deal with NIL for 3 years, but Acker has had to deal with the portal and NIL for both of his seasons, and in his first season, LB had no NIL money. Can Acker have a winning season in 2026/2027? Has the NIL fund at LB grown enough for Acker to build competitive rosters? I hope he will be a successful coach at LB for several seasons. This is a pivotal season for Acker. Time will tell!
