Older walk-ons are grandfathered in to allow teams to go over the limit. My guess is JJ Chaikovsky is a walk-on as he was a W/O at CSUN before transferring to LB and, as a Junior, he fits into the grandfather rule.
That said, JJ Serre would be the third JJ on the roster which must violate some rule somewhere.
