Wilson completely over scheduled its non conference with teams they likely could never beat in their best year...and the overall team is down this year. I like coach Curtis and hope he stays. I think they have a younger team overall with the only good returnees at running back and receiver.

Same might be for Millikan and Lakewood, and Poly always schedules tough and they don't look ready either.

NIL has completely changed the game. Private schools can bring in athletes with no transfer issues and cover school and maybe some more.

Also transfers are much more lenient to other public schools now.

Poly lost their head coach and then lost the replacement the next year when they had ineligible players, and the culture.

The public’s also can’t keep coaches, as most are still $6k a year stipends so you better hope a teaching position the prospective coaches have credentials in has an opening.

Can any LB locals offer insight into what appears to be the complete collapse of the High School football programs in Long Beach / Moore League? Was just casually scrolling and noticed they’re like 3-20 something with mostly VERY lopsided losses. Noticed some SoCal coaches (Luetzinger Coach as example) have been walking away after having their programs completely raided by schools often offering NIL type compensation. Noticed Los Al, who fits the profile of a school possibly able to pull kids from Long Beach is also down, though their games look competitive playing a very stout schedule. Just kind of interested.
